This 1965 Shelby GT350 was origianlly finished by the factory on 28 May 1965. It would remain with the factory as a prototype for the 1966 GT350. It was also loaned by Shelby to Les Richter, General Manager of Riverside Raceway. In the early 70s the car was acquired by Steve Schlanser from Van Nuys, California. Later to Doug Vogal of Santa Ana, Dennis Yokotake of Culver City and Chris Corrales from Los Angeles in the mid 1980s. In the late 80s the car was aquired by famous Gentleman race Michel Oprey from the Netherlands. The car was raced all over the world, including USA, South-Africa, Carrera Panamericana and Europe. Believed to be one of the fastest GT350’s back in the days with Oprey. In 2022, the car was acquired by the last owner who prepared the car completely to participate in the Targa Florio on Sicily – the car did fantastic.

The car comes with an impressive history file, noting only a few of the events the car did in its life. Also copy’s from internal invoices and correspondence from Shelby American relating this car. And of course a confirmation letter of Howerd Pardee confirming the Ford serial number correspondends with the Shelby serial number they have on file, from the Shelby American factory records. Including a recent FIVA identity card and old FIA papers.
